Various work on the lovely Clara, over time. On the left ear, a freshly pierced tragus w/1.2mm x 8mm titanium labret bar. Two healed double helix, top of the ear; the top with a 1.2mm micro bar and the lower with a 1.2mm x 8mm CBB. On Clara’s right ear is a freshly pierced inner-pinner/fwd-helix w/1.2mm x 8mm curved bar. There is also a healing helix and I’m pretty sure I pierced some of the lobes, seconds, thirds and fourth maybe. Always appreciate regular clientele and custom; meeting so many kool people adds to making what I do really enjoyable.

Labret Lip

Molly’s labret piercing w/1.6mm x 10mm titanium labret bar and later changed down to an 8mm as anywhere around the lip will swell for a week or two initially. It’s always nice to meet new people and give advice to the many that ask me about getting into the professional body piercing/tattooing world. There are several routes but I always tell young people to give themselves options above anything. Generally speaking, the old school way is to get an apprenticeship which involves a lot of watching and learning over a prolonged period of time; for which do your research and find a professional and respectable studio which is willing to take you on. There are also shorter courses you can pay to go on which are great if you have a job to come out to, else it can be difficult to apply the practice which naturally comes with time; if you don’t. Unfortunately Shiva doesn’t take on apprentices as our studios are relatively small and fully staffed; however when new shop staff join there is sometimes the option to learn depending on the circumstances.

Was a pleasure to pierce Hanna’s top ear/helix’, both pierced w/1.2mm titanium. After Hanna’s first one, she left a really kind write up…
Today I decided was the day to get my piercing done. I booked my appointment online and chose James to carry out the procedure (because I’ve had a look at his Instagram page a while ago when I was searching for someone to do my piercing).
I went with my mum because she’s always been there when I got my past piercings. The shop itself also offers tattoo services and they also sell a range of items; from bracelets to hair dye to printed bedspreads. Here is their online store – www.shivaexperience.co.uk
I didn’t really speak to the staff much but I didn’t have a bad experience with any of them, they all seemed really cool and chilled. I can only really say much about James (the guy who actually pierced my ear). He was really lovely and chatty which helped take my mind off the fact that a needle was about to go through my ear ��. We later realised that he was the same person that pierced my mum’s nose (and a few other family friend’s ears and noses). He held a great conversation which just made the experience there that much better.
Then it was time…
First James cleaned my the top of my ear and then he clamped it. After this, he asked if I was ready and he stuck the needle in. The only way that I can describe a piercing is like a shot of a pinching sort of pain. The needle didn’t hurt much more than a gun. I feel as if there was less of a sting with the needle, but the pinching pain lasted a little bit longer. Also I think it hurt a teeny tiny bit when he was putting the actual bar through, but I can’t be too sure because I couldn’t actually see what he was doing ��. Overall, I really would not mind going the needle route again (I think I even probably prefer it ��).
Afterwards, James told me how to take care of my piercing and gave me an information sheet and a solution to clean my piercing with that I had bought. I really do recommend booking an appointment with him if you are considering getting a piercing. I added a second mirrored helix piercing on Hanna a couple of months after the first and took that opportunity to grab a couple of photos. Nipple
Lina’s Nipple Piercing
The nipple piercing is still one of the most popular/frequent piercings that I do, but I still so super rarely take photos of my work. Here’s a couple of great shots of Lina’s nipple pierced w/1.6mm titanium bar. As ever, longer for the initial swelling and healing as the nipple(s) can take minimum 3-6 months to heal; sometimes up to a full year. Always a pleasure to be trusted with people’s bodies and especially for more intimate piercings whereby I take great pride in putting all of my customers and clients at ease so as to feel relaxed and satisfied with the results.
