Colourful Change…

Custom Piercing w/Colourful BCR.

Here’s another photo of the customer who had the double piercing w/BCR. Changed the standard titanium one for a more colourful look! I was really happy with this piercing and have done a few more, though still prefer to use bars when piercing. This customer goes to show though, that if you look after a piercing; it should heal fine. I usually recommend at least 2-3 months minimum with regards to changing jewellery from when you were pierced, but it depends and some piercings/people can take longer.

Referred to as an Erl, Earl or Bridge Piercing…

Here’s another old school photo from 2011 or 2012. This piercing is referred to as an Erl, the Earl or a Bridge Piercing. This is doable if you can pinch the skin at the bridge of your nose, between your eyebrows. This was pierced with a 1.6mm titanium barbell. Rock n’ Roll.

A Tragus Piercing with a Micro Dermal Anchor…

Here is a photo from 2012 I think, a traditional tragus piercing w/clear gem and a micro dermal anchor w/clear gem…

The third mark, the blue dot; is with the idea to do a third dermal underneath to complete a trio of piercings. Note there’s actually two blue dots but you get the idea. Distances, comfort, longevity.

Sternum Micro Dermal on a real sweet lady, literally she owned a cake shop! 🙂

This is 2011 I think… and of all the places to anchor a dermal; this is definitely one of the most aesthetically pleasing and heals pretty well so I really like doing them. Obviously with dermals and piercings in general; try not to catch them!

Surface Piercing w/PTFE

A hip/waist Surface Piercing w/PTFE

Here’s an early surface piercing on the hip/waist. Note, for all surface piercings I only pierce with PTFE plastic, so to allow room for swelling due to the bar being flexible, more comfortable and in general gives it a better chance of healing. One it’s healed, return to trim the plastic down and in some cases (areas of the body) you can change to a metal bar. However it has to be said, surface piercings in general do have a high rejection rate and can naturally migrate. Depends on the body part, depends on the individual, depends on if you look after it.

Custom Work w/BCR

Custom Work: Double Cartilage Piercing w/BCR.

Custom Work: Double Cartilage Piercing w/BCR.

This was the first (2011) and rare a time I do this. Usually I would recommend bars only and in some cases, one piercing at a time for some people; but this was two piercings done at the same time and fitted with a BCR (Ball Closure Ring) It’s kind of hard to do because if you don’t get your measurements right, it can warp/stress the ear and inevitably get infected/never heal. This was however perfect and healed accordingly.
