Layla's Vertical Scaffold Piercing I

Layla’s Vertical Scaffold Piercing I

Layla’s Vertical Scaffold Piercing II also known as a Suicide Industrial Piercing

Had a blast adding this piece of heavy metal to Layla’s right ear. I’ve pierced Layla countless times (20+) and her left ear can be seen featured on here with a ‘traditional scaffold’ among other piercings. To even it up some I added a vertical scaffold piercing, also known as a suicide industrial piercing w/1.6mm titanium. Both of us were very happy with the results and industrial work has to be among my favourite piercings. There’s also a 2mm taper in her lobe and a top ear/helix piercing pierced some when prior.

Kate’s freshly pierced rook w/1.2mm x 8mm curved blackline titanium bar and clear gem stone heads. The top-ear/helix, healed and also pierced by myself; has also been switched to blackline. The industrial/scaffold is around a month old, 1.6mm x 38mm in length; the 1.6mm balls switched up to have all matching blackline jewellery which compliments the 4mm spiral taper ear rings.

Industrial Scaffold

Titus' Industrial Scaffold Piercing

Titus’ Industrial Scaffold Piercing

New Shiva Crew member Titus’ industrial scaffold pierced w/1.6mm x 38mm titanium bar. A titanium bar for Titus and a 10mm squishy plug refit in past stretched 26mm ear lobes! I always pierce scaffolds with one needle and I always line up between dots to show/adjust the angle beforehand. You can see two feint blue lines where I drew up two options. One more horizontal, one more vertical. We went with vertical at Titus’ request and he had the perfect shaped ear for such a piercing.

Pauline's Arrow Scaffold Piercing

Pauline’s Arrow Scaffold Piercing

So Pauline came in with the request of being pierced w/jewellery she had bought with her. The gold coated titanium arrow bar came via Etsy but was only 30mm in length. So for healing/swelling purposes, I switched the arrow heads onto a 1.6mm x 34mm titanium bar. The 30mm should fit snug once it’s healed and I’m thankful for getting to picture some interesting jewellery. The gold/silver contrasts w/earrings and as I love doing industrial piercings, this was truly a pleasure.

Amy’s Scaffold Piercing

Amy’s industrial scaffold piercing w/1.6mm x 36mm titanium bar, pierced as always with one needle – straight as an arrow! Trying to vary up shots and angles, and this really captures the piercing what with the swelling and blood rush to the head/ear! Heavy duty piercing which I love doing; requires attention n’ patience whilst healing.

Scaffold

Dan's Scaffold

Dan’s Scaffold

Scaffold done w/a 1.6mm x 38mm , I think. The extra length is, as with most piercings; to allow for an initial swelling period. With a scaffold, I usually give at least 2mm either side when measuring up/piercing.

Scaffold Piercing w/1.6mm

Here’s a scaffold (or industrial) piercing. These are always pierced with extra length to consider the swelling/healing (it’s technically two piercings at once.) I pierce with one needle and follow alongside a blue line, which I mark up before hand. If it was pierced with two needles, that would obviously be crooked, thus stressing the ear. Marking it up, also allows you to consider moving it for placement, although most of the time your ear dictates (by it’s shape) where it will sit most comfortably and best aesthetically. I pierce with 1.6mm x 30-40+mm.
